Paul Wirt and Mark Twain

Fans of Paul E Wirt pens are probably aware of the endorsement by Mark Twain.

Below is an excerpt from “Dear Mark Twain, Letters from His Readers” 2013, editor R. Kent Rasmussen, University California Press

Another ad with a different Mark Twain quote, from Lippincott’s Magazine, June 1889: “An absolutely perfect pen, compared with which all others are frank failures.”

By 1903, he had a change of heart and began to promote a new pen company, albeit using his trademark humor.
